MEN ARE LIKE GRASS

"If that is how God
clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today and tomorrow
is thrown into the fire,
will he not much more clothe you,
O you of little faith?"
Matthew 6:30

All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall (1 Pt. 1:24). Like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away (Ps. 37:2).

Though in the morning it springs up new, by evening it is dry and withered (Ps. 90:6). For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business (Jas. 1:11). He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure (Jb. 14:2).

The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass (Isa. 40:7).

You sweep men away in the sleep of death; they are like the new grass of the morning (Ps. 90:5). My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass (Ps. 102:11). My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food (Ps. 102:4).
